Whiteside Mountain Trail

The easy Whiteside Mountain Trail is a 2-mile loop that runs along the Eastern Continental Divide, providing stunning long-range views from the top, including Shortoff and Yellow Mountain to the north, Chimney Top Mountain to the east, Lake Keowee to the South and the Nantahalia Mountain Range to the west.

Whiteside Mountain is a staggering 4930 feet high and at 750 feet, is home to the highest vertical drop in the Eastern United States.

Directions:

From intersection of NC 107 and US 64 in Cashiers, drive 4.7 miles west on US 64, then turn left onto Whiteside Mountain Road at a brown and white  Whiteside Mountain Trail sign. Continue 1.1 miles, passing Wildcat Cliffs Country Club on right. The gravel parking lot for accessing the trailhead will be on your left.
