13th Annual Mountain Wildlife Days Feature Wildlife Experts & Live Animals

The 13th annual Mountain Wildlife Days is scheduled for July 15 and 16 at the Sapphire Valley Community Center, located 3 miles east of Cashiers, NC. This year’s event will feature the Balsam Mountain Trust’s live birds of prey, Rob Gudger and his wolves, along with world class wildlife photographer Bill Lea acquainting the audience regarding his unique close experiences in Yellowstone  with coyotes, foxes and bobcats.

In addition, Arthur the bear will join Cynthia Strain of B.E.A.R in an interesting  look at the “Life of a Black Bear and how to live safely with them. Also, Jen Knight of the Balsam Trust Nature Center will bring a variety of live mammals, birds and reptiles for a close up sharing time with the audience.

The ever popular North Georgia Zoo’s Wildlife Wonders will feature some of their interesting and unusual “live” wildlife, seldom found in our North Carolina Mountains. Friday, July 15 morning activities are  still being scheduled, however, hikes, and field trips will be announced later.
