With hometown flair and festivity, the 42nd Annual Cashiers Christmas Parade, generously sponsored by Hattler Properties, will kick off at noon Saturday December 10th at the intersection of Cashiers School Road and NC Highway 107 South, near Cornucopia Restaurant. Celebrating the Valley Garden Club's 30th Anniversary, entries will decorate to a "Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly" theme, and march to the Crossroads then west on US Hwy 64 to Frank Allen Road. Featuring 75 or more floats, marchers, musicians, vintage cars, fire engines, animals and more the traditional walk through the Crossroads will delight all ages. Spectators can enjoy the event and commentary with street side broadcast and those not able to attend can listen and/or view it streaming live on both a new mobile phone application or via www.SapphireValley.com (and after-the-fact on YouTube). Rain date/time: 1:00 p.m. Sunday.
