Presented by the Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce and promoted by the Chamber's Retailer & Restaurateur Roundtable, all Chamber Member businesses were invited to participate in this coordinated, destination enhancing opportunity. RSVP! ANNUAL LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

Join us for the Chamber's Annual Legislative Update featuring NC Representative Joe Sam Queen, to be held at noon on Friday, May 17th in the new Clubhouse facility of the Country Club of Sapphire Valley.  Rep. Joe Sam Queen will discuss North Carolina General Assembly legislation of importance to District 119 (Haywood, Jackson and Swain Counties) and, in particular, which impacts businesses and residents of the Cashiers Area.  Click here to RSVP and purchase Chamber Member tickets for $30 per person which includes lunch. RECENT TRASH PICKUP EFFORTS

Coinciding with Earth Day 2019, the Cashiers Area Chamber teamed up with the Highlands Chamber of Commerce and community volunteer David Young on an annual “deep clean” of the shoulders along US Highway 64 W. More than a ton (2,200 pounds total) of litter was collected in 94 bags on Sunday mornings as part of the cleanup. A big thank you to David Young and his team for their efforts and continued involvement to keep our byways clean and green. ANNOUNCING! BUSINESS AFTER HOURS EVENT FORMAT

The Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to share the 2019 Business Showcase & Networking Reception event format. Events are scheduled on the 3rd Thursday of each month (June-October) from 5-7 p.m. Each event has a unique theme/focus where Chamber member businesses and non-profits will be featured. Announcements, business recognition and door prize drawing all take place during the evening. Stay tuned for full calendar schedule and email invitations to these exclusive Chamber Member Networking Events.
 



WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE UPDATE

In conjunction with the Chamber’s workforce development initiative, the Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce continued their involvement and support of Jackson County Public School’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) Programs at the Spring Advisory Board Meeting this past April to discuss what key factors set students up for success as they enter in the workforce. Soft skills training, interview prep, attendance, student & business networking events and specialized certification options currently offered to students were all discussed. Read more...Chamber News

All Chamber Member Businesses are invited to post their job opportunities on www.CahsiersAreaJobs.com for maximum online exposure. Populate the site with full-time, part-time, year-round and seasonal opportunities in culinary, hospitality, construction, trades, and all business services and the Chamber will continue to promote the website in 30,000+ print materials, through regional workforce partnerships, with area universities, colleges, schools and more. 2019 BROCHURES ON THEIR WAY!

2019 print materials including the Visitor Guide & Membership Directory and the Cashiers Area Shopping & Dining Guide will be delivered to the Chamber and distributed to area business this May. Keep a look out for the new guides or stop by the Chamber Offices located at 202 US Hwy 64 W for singular or bulk pickup of the fresh materials.
 



CASHIERS PLANNING COUNCIL

Please be advised of the following message from the Jackson County Planning Council: The Cashiers Area Community Planning Council will not meet on Monday, May 27th, 2019 due to the Memorial Day Holiday.  The meeting has been rescheduled to Monday, May 20th, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at the Glenville-Cashiers Recreation Center. www.planning.jacksonnc.org.

The online community calendar recently underwent required maintenance leading into the 2019 year. Area businesses and non-profits are invited to add event details to the calendar throughout the year for maximum exposure to area residents and visitors. From the homepage - submit details via the "Add Event" menu option.

The Chamber operates and maintains the Cashiers Area Job Board and invites you to Post a Job and Find a Job. The website was developed in 2017 and is promoted regionally as part of the Chamber's ongoing efforts to tackle Workforce Development. Posting a job opportunity is an exclusinve Chamber Member benefit.
