CHAMBER UNVEILS AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

The program is designed to welcome and help new members with techniques to utilize Chamber membership to its fullest. Chamber Ambassador Volunteers facilitate introductions to fellow members and help build lasting relationships at Business After Hours networking events, assist with membership campaigns and more. Check out ths year's Business After Hours calendar on our website CashiersAreaChamber.com. These newly expanded networking receptions will be held on the 3rd Thursday of the month (June-October) from 5:00-7:00 PM and event themes will showcase member businesses and organizations in Retail, Health & Wellness, Education, Outdoor & Recreation, and the annual Chili Cook-Off Finale.

RETAILER ROUNDTABLE AT IT AGAIN!

The Chamber's Retailer Roundtable will meet again this month to continue discussions on ways to coordinate and promote the Cashiers Area shopping, dining and visitor experience through visual statements. CAMPERS, FAMILIES IMPACT LOCAL ECONOMY GREATLY

 In coordination with the Retail Roundtable “Welcome Cashiers” effort, the Chamber has launched the “Welcome Campers & Families” campaign, starting with a high-profile banner at the Crossroads. This fall, an updated report on the economic impact of the western NC camp industry will be released. 2010 report results identified “millions of dollars in economic impact to the state and region.  An average of $2,096 was spent by each of 53,238 camper families with an average stay of 4 nights.  Activities include shopping, dining, hiking and touring area attractions. Camps in the region employed nearly 5,500 staff with an average annual payroll of $640,000. Key findings: $218M direct annual spending, $260M induced economic impact; $33M new annual tax revenues and more than 10K FTE jobs created.

LEADERSHIP CASHIERS

Leadership Cashiers, a community engagement initiative of the Cashiers Area Chamber will meet with program sponsors and continue discussions to unveil a group project to benefit the Cashiers area community. The Program meets and serves to "inform, connect and engage leaders by looking intensively at the issues affecting our area, and by building strong working relationships to prepare and motivate participants to provide enlightened, dynamic leadership." The online community calendar recently underwent required maintenance leading into the 2019 year. Area businesses and non-profits are invited to add event details to the calendar throughout the year for maximum exposure to area residents and visitors. From the homepage - submit details via the "Add Event" menu option.

The Chamber operates and maintains the Cashiers Area Job Board and invites you to Post a Job and Find a Job. The website was developed in 2017 and is promoted regionally as part of the Chamber's ongoing efforts to tackle Workforce Development. Posting a job opportunity is an exclusinve Chamber Member benefit.
