Whiteside Mountain Views

Whiteside Mountain is a hike to put at the top of your list if you are visiting the Cashiers and surrounding area. A two-mile loop trail leading around the rim of the mountain offers stunning views to the south, east and west and boasts abundant wildlife, plants and history. The million-year-old rock cliffs reach 4930 feet and sit along the Eastern Continental Divide. The iconic mountain’s cliffs are known by their markings that look like sheets of ice stretched along the mountain and serve as a local landmark, wildlife habitat and rock climbing enthusiast’s dream.
